She feels melancholy
for the brevity of shooting stars.
She makes up stories
about where they may have come from,
and what they left behind.
Like Orion's belt was too tight.
Maybe the dog stars
in Canis Major were chasing them.
It's as if she knew their troubles
and why they left.

Just read your poetry piece, and I liked it. Especially the melancholy part; it is a feeling that transcends just "missing". I cannot wait to read your next piece.
