Eventide Reading
Teach me, dear poem
Better I lean into the wind
Than throw stones against the storm
For it seems I do not perish
That is one adventure too far
Show me, dear poem
The lesser ventures
Those tidy revelations
Encountered everyday
Such fluttering pages you write on
Your journey, dear poem
The drunkard’s walk
To track each turn, each spiced twist
I'm a hovering falcon
And when all that proves beyond me
Let me, dear poem
Hear your lullaby shush me
Feel your spell transport me
For it seems you sing a thousand years
Bold songs I pray include me
