Make a note in your diary! Write Out Loud's Poetry Jam at Marsden jazz festival

entry picture

If you’re still sweltering, console yourself … the season of mist and mellow fruitfulness will soon be upon us … and with it Write Out Loud’s annual Poetry Jam at Marsden Jazz Festival on Sunday 11 October, starting at 11am.

Landlord Adam Kewley will be warmly opening his arms and doors to poets again at Marsden Socialist Club, Manchester Road, with its fine stage, sound system and beverages to lubricate the vocal chords of any nervous new performer, or even battle-hard compere.

Last year, Write Out Loud founders Dave Morgan and Julian Jordon made the early morning pilgrimage across the Pennines along with Write Out Loud veteran Gus Jonsson to support our regular cohort of talented Yorkshire poets. The poetry was top-notch and matched by the delivery – Marsden certainly puts the P into performance!

I will be compering again and am looking forward to seeing everyone at this very popular event. So, do make a note on your calendar, it would be great to see you there. Sign up from 10.30 am onwards for the 11am start.
