Topic of Cancer
a friend is dying,
only half my age
married, two lovely
young children,
cancer and there’s
nothing to be done,
despair anger hurt
sorrow circle like
desert vultures
for slim pickings,
soon we will talk,
few get the chance
to carefully pack
their life away, to
curate a tidy end,
some say it’s lucky
how crass is that

Devastating, Graham: both the situation and the poem. Can't imagine this. Horrible. And unfair.
