You Could Be

When I see the day

The day I cried

The day I tried

When I see the way

The way to cry

The way to try

But what about you?

You could be

So much more

I see a castle

In the distance

Inside the world

Beyond the sky

You could be

There in the castle

Maybe you're royalty

Maybe I was wrong

Oh how could I ever tell?

If you try, you could be anything

From my point of view

You've already won the day

This was exactly how it should go

Seeing you at the very end

Maybe it's meant to be about time

It's been about 8 years since I've been home

This house is okay

But it ain't the past

It ain't what I loved

And maybe I don't know

Maybe I could see

Who you are inside

I might be insane

But I think you could be

The one who tries

Don't give up

Never give up

Life is only waiting for you to realize the true massive scale of everything you could ever dream of

A deeply touching and layered poem.

From a psychological perspective, it beautifully reflects a vital stage of grief and healing. Beyond the motivational tone, there is a profound existential acceptance. The speaker gracefully surrenders to reality and the flow of time in lines like:
“This house is okay / But it ain't the past”
“Maybe it's meant to be about time”
“Maybe I was wrong”

The hero stops fighting the unchangeable past and humbly accepts human imperfection. This very surrender becomes the foundation for the final emotional lift. By encouraging another to 'never give up,' the speaker gently heals their own wounded heart and embraces the future.
A brilliant, vulnerable piece!

Thank you for sharing.
