Lovesick

You know,

I have tried every medicine in the world,

And yet, not one has cured me of you

I have yearned and ached for your love

Until I was sick to my stomach, and for what?

All that pain, it yielded nothing in the end;

For I am still cold and lonely on this starless night

You know,

You haunt my dreams, sometimes,

You caress my cheek, stroke my hair, call me yours,

Leave destruction in the wake of your touch,

We are a blur of tangled limbs, lips on skin,

Twin flames, incandescent and scorching,

Oh, what a lovely feeling it is; one so easily shattered,

By the dregs of sunlight filtering in through windows,

Prying my eyes open, jostling me into my sad reality.

But, of course, you will never know,

You will never feel the force of my longing,

Or the weight of my heartbreak.

But I hope you know this, at least,

That if you decide to change your mind one day,

I’ll be waiting for you, under this starless sky,

Oh darling, I’d wait for you all my life

Wonderful words. The first two stanza were my favourites... the last underlined all before.
