Unwritten Roads

I will not measure breath by borrowed clocks,
Nor shape my days to fit another’s dream,
The road I take may wander, bend and break —
But every step is mine, and wholly seen!

Let others chase the echoes of applause,
I will listen for the quiet in my chest,
For in that hush, a steady truth remains,
To live as I am called is living best!

No map but instinct, no permission sought,
No fear of paths that others leave unknown —
I am the keeper of the life I build,
And every wild horizon is my own!

Awe, I had to sit with this for a moment. As someone who loves the quiet spaces of the soul, your words resonate deeply. There is such a profound, quiet rebellion here. It’s not loud or aggressive, but a steady, sovereign refusal to betray your own essence. Stepping away from the "echoes of applause" to listen to your inner truth isn't narcissistic — it’s a profound act of self-preservation. You are acting as the guardian of your own light. The "borrowed clocks" and "wild horizon" feel magical. It’s the precise moment a creator stops using maps drawn by others and trusts their own instinct. Thank you Aisha, for this beautiful reminder to live authentically. A true masterpiece!
