Meet the Hot Poets … an ambitious, award-winning, internationally focused arts organisation, working to communicate climate change science and action through spoken word poetry. They do this by creating arts and science collaborations and partnerships with top climate change organisations and world-class artists, “exploring beyond the climate crisis to the science and imagination needed to save our world”. They were founded in 2021 by Liv Torc and Chris Redmond, and have researched, written and filmed 30 poetry commissions and published books, with subjects as diverse as Whale Poo to Climate Litigation. Their poems have been viewed, heard and seen live over five million times.

Other poets involved in the project are Michael Rosen, Diz Undone, Testament, Kate Fox, Jasmine Gardosi, Ifor ap Glyn, Blue Rachapradit, Yomi Sode, Iona Lee, Francesca Beard, Elvis McGonagall, The Repeat Beat Poet, Matt Harvey, Joelle Taylor, Vanessa Kissule, Jonny Fluffypunk, Toni Giselle Stuart, Zena Edwards, Bodhan Piasecki, and Abby Oliveira.

Among their forthcoming events they will be appearing at Morecambe poetry festival in September, and led by Michael Rosen they will be teaming up with this year’s National Poetry Day - the 2026 theme is Wonder - to bring poetry, climate science and creativity into schools across the UK.

As schools are forced to close during this year’s heatwaves, Hot Poets have launched a £20,000  appeal to help them bring their message to more schools. One of their key messages is, there’s more than one way to save the world.
