She’s Missing Home (after “She’s Leaving Home”)

Friday evening the sun goes down as she shuts the door,

silently stares in her lonely room,

sitting there still in the growing gloom

as she reaches out for the TV remote on the mantelpiece.

Aimlessly searching the channels to see

something to set her mind free

She (She’s made a mess of her life)

is missing (left with a lying low-life)

home (promised her everything money could buy)

She’s missing home and her feelings all roam back to mum and dad

Mother sighs as her husband searches the news reports,

waiting in hope by the telephone,

fears for the girl that’s out on her own.

She sheds tired tears as she once again utters her plaintive plea;

back here she’d be so much happier.

Has something happened to her?

She (She’s living with her mistake)

is crying (lured by the lies of a snake)

now (dazzled by glamour of all the bright lights)

She’s missing home and her feelings all roam back to mum and dad (Don’t cry)

In a few days she fearfully began to see,

motor trade’s not what he said it would be.

How did I let myself go with him?

She (wishing that she could go back)

is losing (got herself on the wrong track)

hope (lost in the dismal despair that she’s in)

Made her so sad that she’d lost what she had with her family,

She’s missing home (Don’t cry)
