Hasti’s debut poetry pamphlet wins Michael Marks award
Hasti, a poet and writer living in south-east London, has won the Michael Marks poetry pamphlet award with their debut pamphlet, young, dumb, and full of poems, published by Bad Betty Press. They are a member of the inaugural Southbank New Poets Collective and the Ledbury Poetry Critics, recipient of the 2023 White Review Poet's Prize and the 2022 Queen Mary Wasafiri New Writing Prize for Poetry. Shortlisted for the prize were Rachel Cleverly (Prickle); Hugh Foley (Recent Poems); Eve Ellis (Spit Valve); and James Appleby (Spurious Language).
Patrick Romero McCafferty won the environmental poetry pamphlet award with Glass Knot Sun (ignitionpress); Green Bottle Press won the publishers’ award ; and visual artist and poet Hana Ormara won the illustration award with Godhuma: the breathing of the earth (Intergraphia Press).
