By Virtue Of Words
I’ve been forced to write
About a brick wall.
With nose an inch from the bricks
Who could tell
Whether they are confined within the wall
Or banished to the outside.
It’s getting late
the time has come to write
Of love and of freedom, of all of us.
Of every branch, every bird on the branch
Each feather, and its reason to exist.
Atoms -words- become songs; become tattoos
Get sprayed on walls and writ large on banners
They occupy university tracts
And only they can form a sacred text.
Touching my illegible tombstone
It is right to say I will not vanish
Believe me, it’s the bricks that must vanish.

I must stop banging my head against it!
