It is difficult to see 
our loved ones part,
for they are the ones 
close to our heart.

One moment you are waving 
as a tear slips by
the next they are gone 
with the blink of an eye. 

Life becomes too ruthful once 
like the grains of sand 
our dear ones too 
slip from the palm of our hand.

Alas we must face all blows 
for we are human beings 
built to wade through times
so harsh and distressing.

Forgetting all,
we must move on 
for all that happens
life goes on. 

But to glance behind, 
to see footsteps of those 
who were always loved by you,
but are now just less close.......
