Glass
I face this mirror and see
The absolute truth.
God loves me, this I know,
Because He sent you.
This glass is polished to a silver shine,
No streaks, cracks, or scratches.
Just the light that your eye catches.
My mirror reflects,
On days when I’m not my best
The love I’ve given to it.
The intentional time,
Encouragement and accountability,
Forgiveness and compromise
A reflection so rare and sublime.
More than a piece of glass,
A truth teller, the eye on the wall.
When neglected, it shows,
Because glass remembers.
My prayer is that together, we reflect
A thousand Januaries and A thousand Decembers
Of care, laughs, and growth.
I thank God every second
of every minute,
of every hour,
of every day,
That with you,
true beauty is all this reflection will ever know.
