Hurricane Season

The spirit of September, a time of transition

Not quite Summer, not quite Autumn

Equal sun and equal moon,

The lessons of growth ready for plucking.

Storm walls of Helene carried the torch

Unrooted trees of unhappiness

Lifted shaky foundations

Exposed destructive patterns

Our lives entered a spiral of undeniable change

In the eye of the storm

I found solace in an unexpected place.

In the eye of the storm

There is love, truth, and peace.

We’ve danced in this rain,

Stood strong in gale force winds,

Dodged the debris of old habits and misunderstandings

Today, we harvest happiness over everything.
