Considering The Thinker, deep in thought

while sitting on his rock there, in the nude,

immortalised by Monsieur Rodin, caught

off guard in this profoundly pensive mood.

 

Did some conundrum make him thus reflect,

some deep, disturbing personal event?

Or City Fathers stumbling unchecked,

with crazy bylaws causing discontent.

 

This riddle would perhaps go unresolved

without a tip-off from Rodin or him

on how the situation had evolved,

but actually, the truth was not so grim.

 

Last night when he was out with those carousers,

he wondered where on earth he’d left his trousers.
