CRACCADILLY GARDENS (CRACK-A-DILLY GARDENS)

In Craccadilly Gardens, where the crackheads sit, I heard A man groan, "I'm fucking dying for a shit!" And as I watched him closely, to my dread, the dirty bastard picked his nose instead.

In the city, stories ceaselessly unfold, A tapestry of new, interwoven with old. From bustling Market Street, where shoppers stream, to the Northern Quarter's vibrant, lively glea,

It stands as a nexus, constantly in motion, A destination for every human ocean. And the Metrolink's chime, a silver, guiding thread, weaving through the urban paths ahead. The double-deckers, crimson, grand, and tall, heeding the relentless city's call.

A transport hub, where journeys take their flight, or gently end, within this urban light. Commuters rush, with purpose strong and keen, while others pause, amidst the shifting scene, beneath the watchful, often weary gaze, of those who pass through life's intricate maze.

Once verdant lawns, a touch of gentle grace, now modern forms adorn this changing space. With stark concrete and water's fluid art, reflecting skies, within the city's heart.

The pavilion stands as a striking, bold design, A shelter from the storm, a moment to recline, or just a place to sit and calmly view, through shifting light, the urban, hazy hue. A canvas where the city's complex plight is sometimes brought to stark and vivid light. Yet whispers carry, on the gentle breeze, among the crowds, and through the rustling trees,

A common phrase, a name both stark and real, "Craccaddilly," etched in how the people feel. A testament to what the eyes behold, the city's challenges are brave, grim, and old. A candid mirror, held up to the sky, reflecting truths, as moments swiftly fly.

For here, beneath the urban, polished gleam, the shadows play a troubled, poignant dream. For some, it is home, a spot to find their peace; for others, it is trials that never seem to cease. A place of gathering, both loud and clear, Dispelling doubt, or drawing spirits near, but broken glass and stories left untold, it can mar the beauty, making hearts feel cold.

And weary souls, who wander on their way, may find the darker side of everyday. Through seasons change, and years continue to unfold, it’s an evolving story, waiting to be told.

A landmark known by all who bravely roam, this complex heart of Manchester, home to both vibrant life and shadowed, urban plight, defines "Craccaddilly," both by day and night.
