BORN TOO LATE

entry picture

Among the several things whose evolution over the past decades I resent, one stands out – the sexual emancipation of women.

Whereas once we were required only to do our business, fart and nod off, it is now not enough that we are expected to know our way around the fairy garden but that we know what to do when we find ourselves there.

How much easier was it when sex for women was entered into as a procreational duty? As Mary Wood-Allen, the Marge Proops of her day put it, sex for women was acceptable provided it was done “without a particle of sexual desire”.

And Our Gert will vouch that I was created for such missions.

Born too late indeed.

I think the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford would be most interested in the phenomenon which you so eloquently describe, John. We too have fairies at the bottom of our garden, and a most poetic place it is too!

I’m not sure this is very fair to our female Wol’ers and certainly isn’t poetry. Please reconsider.
