April 2026 Collage Poem: Addiction of Choice
Obscure baboon lutes a fine-tuned verb
In the Shadow of the City I fear I will see you not
Pain on the battlefield
A broadside of startling images
Drawing us line by line, precept upon precept
into this place
In the shadow of the city a
Sigma male waits for his Bonny Lass
Hey Jude a choice of prayer you say
IN THE SHADOWS OF THE CITY WE COULD STILL BOTH BE
WAXING & WANING EARTH
Standing in the city’s shadow
digital adverts lighting the rain
scrolling for detox, through the adverts on his phone
The poets attraction to love was
hidden in broken words
and ends in a sonnet
