A Million Images Birthed by A Single Sound

Hypnotizing, like hearing a new song,
disrupting our quiet home

For hours at a time
studying every word, every rhyme

Senses heighten,
vibrations spurred

Not once have our eyes met
where our minds travel

Not once have hands touched
where our souls join

How does a voice ignite the deepest depths
to anyone who’s listening

Is it any wonder that we come so close
yet remain so far

These moments repeat
fulfilling an everlasting need

Will we get the chance to speak these words
dancing across the wind

Will we ever strum the chords
playing to the music of the night

Will we ever inhale words breathed
between gasps for air

Will we ever exhale the sweetest sounds
as we lay our souls bare

Let us hold onto the promise 'it isn’t too late'
Or in the dream we shall forever remain

an old poem from 2022...

A wonderful poem, Kimberly. I read it many times, and each reading enhances its quality.
