Amnesia
Who are you?
I think I would remember.
You speak as if we share a past,
But your face is just a stranger.
You say you’re my brother,
I would know if that were true.
You call my name as if I’d answer,
But I still do not remember you.
There is no kindness in your eyes,
Tell me, is that true?
Stop calling yourself my brother;
I would remember, if it were you.
And yet I see something in your face,
A memory I cannot quite place.
Your eyes are so like mine,
But I cannot call you brother this time.
