March 13: Jewel Day
Jewels in Your Eyes
I feel the tinglings of delight arise
like flaming orbs against celestial blue,
ebullient spinning diamonds in your eyes,
the ghostly suddenness of déjà vu
escorting me to sacred hideaways
of carefree youth, where every morningtide
unveiled its eminence in brash displays
of sunrise, amethyst and ruby-eyed.
At dusk the flush of gray and crimson mist
arrests my supple spirit in the guise
of balm and virtue, sprays of twilight kissed
by pearly haze, to tease and tantalize.
And now the blush of night intensifies
the gemlike black resplendence of your eyes.
