Archeological Discovery
Some time ago
well, in ancient Greece
but it could have been last year
on any street (no palace required)
you'd here them say (don't attempt the accent)
"The Goddess inhabits the woman."
I say, I mean they say, 'The Goddess'
but of course there is more than one
often it was not possible to tell which
and by 'inhabit' I mean, I mean they mean,
temporarily take up residence
in the woman's mind, body, spirit or soul.
Now, some dumb ass (who do you think)
under the spell at one breath
of a rare perfume and hungry for more
carried, like Atlas, the weight of the world
on his shoulders, showering torrents of gratitude
on anyone and anything that delighted his Love
or kept her from being upset
while the high Olympian flower looked on
with eyes fathomless as they were beautiful.

Nice one, Adam. Just been watching Digging for Britain, fascinating stuff.
