February 9: Develop Alternative Vices
Antithesis
I stood before the pomp and decadence
of pleasure domes bedecked with tapestries
and baths and spices, gems and ornaments
and silver goblets, bubbly nectaries
of Musigný with Cyrenáic maids
in throes of epicurean delight,
and reed and dulcimer and serenades
of sultry sweet seductions through the night.
I turned away and felt the tickly mist
and breathy fragrance of a summer's dawn,
as ricocheting gangs of glitter kissed
the flossy daisies on the dewy lawn
and lured a wayward soul from revelry
to haunts of idyll and serenity.
