Bully
If you grovel to a bully,
You won’t become his friend.
He’ll keep on squeezing you for more;
Demands will never end.
If you grovel to a bully,
He will not be impressed;
He’ll pocket everything you give
And come back for the rest.
If you grovel to a bully,
He’ll think you can’t refuse,
So your inadequate response
Means you are bound to lose.
If you grovel to a bully,
He will not just stop there.
You can whistle for his favours,
Because he doesn’t care!

Thank you, John. That's quite true, as the man said, and you won't get rid of the Don either, although standing up to him can expose the limits of his bluster.
And thanks to everyone who liked this poem.
