Leviathan

entry picture

Leviathan

The senile wolf is at the door

Spewing racist chaos and hate

Howling at perceived injustice

A permanent and hostile state

See the war pigs gathering round

His rancid and disgusting trough

This is where the demons shelter

Raise their fascist banners aloft

This is now the new world order

See the storm clouds across the skies

Where the warlords and the tyrants

Let slip their masks and fake disguise

A covenant of evil men

Who twist their words and hide their lies

From sheep who vote for their butchers

This is how democracy dies

A tweet from bruised and bloated fingers

Comments spill from an addled mind

A currency of twisted thinking

Paid to the febrile and unkind

A dictator and autocrat

Supported by a fawning court

Where loyalty is blind and deaf

And votes can be stolen or bought

A bully with a failing grip

Sends bully boys to enforce law

The private army of the damned

ICE cold killers on the thaw

Around the world friends and neighbours

Close the windows and lock the door

To something crawling from the swamp

That’s evil to its very core

The history books remain ignored

Of violent men in violent ways

It really couldn’t happen here

The fawning right wing prophet says

An atheist untouched by god

Kneels down and in the chaos prays

That peace will come and hate will die

Mankind will cheat the end of days

I love these lines in particular. It brings to mind the phrase pulling the wool over the eyes of those who should know better

Nice one Ian

Powerful stuff, Ian. I never thought Trump would make me cry, but the outrage of parents of British soldiers on the news tonight brought tears to my eyes.

George Harrison comes to mind.
All Things Must Pass.
Powerful. Clear. The imagery so potent.
