David Bowie - 10 Years Gone

entry picture

David Bowie 10 years on
Left this world right on song
David Bowie where did the time go
Too soon you departed don't you know
David Bowie 10 years gone

January 10 2016 changes unforeseen
The thin white duke has gone and been
The jean genie had sound and vision hey
All the young dudes jump they say
Oh you pretty things loving the alien more
Diamond dogs they howl and  roar
Let's dance with a china girl right now
We could all be heroes wow

David Bowie 10 years past
Your bright star did not last
David Bowie where are we now
This planet you left in style wow
David Bowie 10 years gone

A drive in saturday for a life on Mars
Ziggy stardust and mean guitars
Modern love dancing in the street
Loving the alien boys keep swinging neat
Rebel rebel watch that man aladdin sane
Cracked actor never out of fashion again
Under pressure and sorrow pain
The man who sold the world for fame

David Bowie 10 years on
Left this world right on song
David Bowie where did the time go
Too soon you departed don't you know
David Bowie 10 years gone

Ashes to ashes in his golden years
Its a moonage daydream tears
Major Tom this is ground control
Can you hear me lady grinning soul
Planet earth is blue everyone says hi
The Blackstar man waiting in the sky
To a space oddity goodbye

David Bowie 10 years past
Your bright star did not last
David Bowie 10 years past

Many thanks Stephen for your comments and feedback. They are much appreciated. Yes he certainly was groundbreaking and a chameleon. The music will live on.

You've done a great job keeping the memory fresh, Tom. I never really understood the appeal of Bowie (apart from the music, of course) until I saw 'The Man who fell to Earth'. And then heard Philip Glass' wonderful Heroes symphony.

I remember the morning his death was announced: the first person that the BBC could ask for comment was the Archbishop of Canterbury, who also seemed to be a fan!
