Information Super Highway
As I embrace the internet
I feel like I’m the conduit
Amassing knowledge at a cost
I feel my sense of self is lost
I watch my life evaporate
Restart now for new updates
Reading through the latest blogs
By some well known clever clogs
I scarce remember my life before
Look out – its error 404
Always, always online browsing
What’s the current price of housing
Here's a house that looks so good
It's in an excellent neighbourhood
It seems to have everything we need
But wait – what’s the local broadband speed
Oh no I’ve overspent again
I must learn to be more frugal
I’ve found this price comparison site
Courtesy of Google
Some people really annoy me
They make me sad and bitter
I’ll take all this frustration
and vent it out on Twitter
Sometime I think it would be nice
To give away each electronic device
Then go and live in an open field
But no doubt my location would be revealed
By Satnav, Tomtom or GPS
There’s no way to escape this techno mess
The lure of connection pulls me in
I have a microchip under my chin
Twitch to the right to be connected
One shot of antivirus and I’m protected
I’ve overpowered the internet
Now I AM the conduit
