Write Out Loud Woking held its farewell night – and its final open mic of 2025 - at the Fiery Bird and Phoenix Cultural Centre in Goldsworth Road, Woking on Thursday 27 November. In 2026 Write Out Loud Woking is re-locating to the Lionsheart bookshop and cafe.

Write Out Loud Woking’s co-founder and long-running co-compere Rodney Wood said: “Huge thanks to the endlessly energetic Elaine McGinty and her amazing volunteers, who make us feel at home every single time. Wonderful news too that they’ve secured funding for more events and open mics next year.” He added that Sharron Green was stepping back from co-hosting Write Out Loud Woking: “We’ll miss her, but we’re delighted Liz Kendall has stepped in.” More details
