Echoes: ‘a glorious anthology… bursting with delightful poems’ Buy now. Limited stocks.

Evening

First the sky was blue and covered with clouds
Like a patchwork of lace
The wind shouted in my ear
I could feel it rushing past my face

Breathing deeply with the air’s energy
I stood up tall and my spirit soared
At that moment I felt utter complete contentment
I was part of the wind as it roared

Next the clouds changed to mauve and grey
The setting sun tinting them with pink and gold
Filling  me with such awe
I just knew that such a majestic work of art
Could not have been formed by
A mere mortal sculptor

As I watched the last light of day
Sweep the sky like an immortal fire
I knew the sun would rise again tomorrow and, yes
I fancied I heard the sweetness of an angelic choir
