Masterpiece

All my history curls
Like burning paper
Blown over my shoulder
If I go first, just know
There’s a record
All I did was try to capture life
In all its colours
And if you look with generous eyes
I hope you’ll see
My masterpiece...

The cedars tower above
This final resting place
All the future that once was
Has now been spent
Discover what you’d die for
Then live for it
And if you seek
With love in your heart
I believe you’ll see
Life’s masterpiece...

And in conclusion
All these accumulated memories
Every experience
Each friend we made or lost
Upon completion
All is good and right
There is nothing more to do
But look on with loving eyes
I believe you’ll see
Your masterpiece...

Open-heartedly
Welcome in the breeze
I believe you’ll see
This masterpiece...

Thanks Stephen. It's not a masterpiece but a tile in the mosaic 😃 Thanks to all those who liked this one. Thanks for reading.

This is a fine poem, Tom. The first three lines are especially good.
Perhaps there is a masterpiece in all of us, whether we know it or not.
