The horizon unzipped like two halves of a leather jacket, 
Swirls of Amber and Scarlet spilled through the void, diluting the atmosphere like cordial through water. 
The earth, burning like the hottest of volcanos cracked and hissed, 
Plants began to shrivel, wilt and die as the heat dehydrated their delicate root systems. 
The sea bubbled as if being boiled from below, ships swallowed and dragged into the depths. 
Stars, blotted out on either side of the expanding void, like numbers on a bingo sheet. 
As animals fled the incoming destruction, the earth stood completely desolate. 
In time, the sky fell.
