Waiting For Sleep
Waiting For Sleep
Death’s allure is strong tonight,
Tempting me with absolute certainty.
Making friends with my self-loathing,
Whilst mocking hope and consequences.
Dwelling in gaps between logic and solitude,
She sings her words of perpetual rest.
Strumming on irrational thought,
Pledges of endless tranquility.
Save me from damned siren song,
Drawing this soul toward the rocks.
I have no rudder to rely upon,
And any horizon is fast disappearing.
This temptress is a seductive mistress,
Her attractiveness undisputed.
Steer me away from dark persuasion,
Let me be alone with you.
