Mothers Tears in Her Eyes (Returning From War)

Mothers Tears In Her Eyes. (Returning From War)

John was 16 and his father gave him a letter to read.

He has been summoned to sign up and go and fight for peace.

He got issued a uniform and a gun.

And his father waved goodbye to his only son.

So, with the memory of his mother's tears in her eyes.

John and his friends head for the skies.

Off to fight in a foreign land.

To rid the world of the devil man.

Thousands of young innocent boys and men heading to war.

As they are driven up the foreign shores.

Gunfire lighting up the skies.

it's now pure luck if they live or die.

The blood starts to flow across the sand.

They forge forward with the courage of every man.

Advance, advance went out the call.

Has the bullets rained down the young boys and men started to fall.

Trampling over their friends who had already met their deaths.

Machine gunfire flying round their heads.

John thought I am only a boy; I want to make it to be a man.

I am not going to die in some foreign land.

With their undaunted courage and determined wills.

A few surviving boys and men made it to the top of the hill.

They walked across the blood drenched grounds.

Thousands of dead bodies lay all around.

A few men appeared carrying white flags.

They had fought and given everything they had.

For John and the remaining boys and men.

They battled and had obtained victory in a foreign land.

Once again John heads for the skies.

Say in a small prayer to God that he is still alive.

He was greeted by tears of joy in his mother's eyes.

His parents squeezed him tight and said thank you God my son survived.
