Deceived and Achieved.

A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter screech stops

As it spots a trash can away from the city.

No one around, only sound of rain drops,

The man had to drop the zip bag in paucity

Of seconds, making sufficient use of the time slot.

The camera and equipments lender yelling on the voicemail,

The trashcan shivering in cold as the van passes by.

The next morning was as pleasant as ever.

The city bustled around to a global award event.

"Pet-fully Yours" wins the best documentary film.

A prideful moment for the director and the city.

The man collects the award and thanks his pet,

Not a long speech or brag, he was in a hurry perhaps.

The event paused for a moment as a headline broke-out -

"A full-grown doggy found alive in a suburban trashcan".

The intact resemblance of the dog from the film,

And the dog that was tragically found and saved

Had disturbed the people of the city massively.

The Animal Rights Activists were in distraught.

All of them watched the unflinchingly joyful

Awardee walk off from the happening event casually.

He didn't stay back for the rest of the event's happenings,

And drove off in his striking Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

How far could he go with this horrific sin and pretentious grin?

How far can a man deceive to achieve his wants and needs?

A fascinating and disturbing poem, Manish. Very well written.
