I wonder, was it James Baron Hacker?

But just WHY anyone should seek to hack WOL is curious indeed.
The only explanation is that a better class of hacker is out there
practising their technique!
Shall I compare thee to a sneaky way

And all around become disconsolate....😌

I have asked the technical chaps to have a look. I would think they are already aware and no serious issues have occurred.

Perhaps you misunderstood me.

My remark about "other sites being fine" referred to non-poetry websites that I use and which I
have bookmarked.

In other words, there wasn't a fault with my computer.

I will be sticking with WOL, and make copies of my work.
I think incidents such as that are run of the mill for a site such as WOL.

Bethany I do not wish to sound trite but WOL’s T&C’s suggest that all members keep a copy of their work to avoid loss in times of system failure etc! Nothing is foolproof these days.

These other sites of yours that you say are fine, can you tell me if they are poetry sites? because I would like to give them a try. I have removed all of my poems from this site because to me after reading the previous comments I don't feel that I can trust it anymore but it won't stop me from commenting. Thank you.

bloody hell! I was just about to put a poem on and found all of my poems have been deleted! Whoever is responsible must have accessed my account? Now I don't know if I dare put another poem on? What a bummer!

According to the info. on the security page, this may have been
due to some party trying to obtain access by less than honest
means and the page displayed was showing the success of
prevention with its warning. Hence, the added proviso to try
later - resumably when any such effort had given up.

Same here with the security page MC - lasted atbout 1 hr.

I experienced a very brief inability to sign in but it resolved after a couple of minutes. Has happened before a few times in isolated occasions.

Hmm. Earlier today, I received a security page that told me WOL
was insecure and a safety risk - with warnings about how/why -with the proviso that I should try later. Is there a connection here?
