oh for a second chance!

somewhere far behind us

our old worlds die

somewhat in vain it would seem

their missed opportunities go on mounting

their innumerable foolish bigger voices

still continue to sound like death knells

can we turn back?

we can but try!

take my hand

and maybe we might find that

the gates of eden are still open

* for the smaller voices this time *

while thanking you all so very much commenters and likers alike and asking Rudyard to provide me with an improved ending for interests sake only I also felt compelled to extend the ending of this poem by one more finishing line as you will see

as in-this time for the smaller voices?

I love this poem, Bethany. The sad reflectiveness combined with that vital element of hope!
