Searching for any redemption.
Longing for new perception.
A faithless man walks through the double door.
He’s greeted with smiles and handshakes like they are welcoming the poor.
He feels guilt and shame like it’s written on his face.
Finds a pew in the back of the unfamiliar place.
Religion is his last resort, he’s spiritually broken.
He’s watching the congregation worship God for their heavenly token.
He prays a prayer like never before to save his ugly soul.
A woman from the crowd turns to him and says “He see’s life has taken it’s toll.”
“You must give up your pain and thank him for all that he has done.”
“He sacrificed his only son to take your sins away and he’s not done.”
“Your life is precious and he made you for a reason.”
“Do not give up. That’s like committing treason.”
“He hears you always and loves you forever.
“Replenish your heart and temptation you can sever.”
The man was speechless. He was elated with peace.
His body was tingly. He’d found the missing piece.
