Night

In the stillness of your voice
I begin to weep
The night is weary and heavy
with sleepy sorrow
The still air crawls on my skin
awakening my senses
Looking into the blackened sky
with tear-filled eyes
Under the quiet moonless night
I ponder in solitude
Feeling secure in the calmness
surrounding the earth
The silence soothes my weary soul
waking my every bone
Day steals the joy of the night
bringing all the misery
I can still smell the dew drops
touching the fresh grass
Now longing for the setting sun
to wake the sleepy night
Falling purely and peacefully
it blankets me in safety
