Recently began a sorry tale:

the man who thought he

was a dad, to three kids

born of herself when living

in his home and whom he

treated rightly as his own

It was after he seeing his

local GP he learned alas

he was infertile due to

a certain underlying

condition picked up in a

recent blood analysis for a

totally unconnected event

Naturally he was incensed

and his kids were likewise

checked with a conclusion

being self-evident – another

had shared their nuptial bed.

Those odd days off she took

when working for a bank,

and nights away she claimed

were job related – thus were

proved to be a farce – three

hundred grand the culprit was

obliged to pay in damages for

being such an arse – little solace

one might think for the spouse,

regarding his concerns and being

outrageously duped paternally,

firing salvoes beneath the belt

Paul, am planning to meet a group of friends for lunch sometime next month at the UJ club Waterloo.

Let me know if you happen to be around.

Jennifer, there wasn't enough information for me to add a full picture to the scenario.

Just one comment from the older child sounded encouraging: You'll always be Dad to me. I didn't know if the family split, the article was relatively short, so who knows.

Perhaps you had access to more information about it than me.

Paul/Po - it seems we have both dredged the dregs of society and been gob smacked by it.

The job wasn't always a happy one as G&S proclaimed in well remembered lyrics.

Blessings to you both.

Nasty story, but great writing! If it was true you would think he would have kept the family together at least for the kids. Much the worst for them, as she knew what she was doing, and he had every right to ask for damages, but disastrous for the kids, who had no part in the scam, but were only evidence of it!
