Perfectly Well

I am perfectly well 

Drinking my lemonade 

On my front porch by myself 

And listening to these crickets.

God, it's been so long 

Since I've heard the crickets,

But I love them so. 

I am perfectly well, don't you know

And I mean it this time,

Sitting here in the silence 

Listening to the siren 

Its my sister, you know 

Taking her turn with the flashing lights

Her turn saving lives 

I'm done for today, I've had enough 

Of breaking ribs and electricity. 

I am perfectly well, can't you see 

And you aren't even here beside me

That's on you, I am afraid to tell

If you haven't figured out yourself 

That you and I are Home, peace,

Love, light, the air we breathe 

Then that's on you.,

I am perfectly well. 

I love these crickets so...
