RAGE

Outwardly I am calmness personified

but inside I start to seethe

I fight to stop my fists from forming

but I cannot stop the redness

rising in the back of my neck

threatening to erupt at any moment

I'm like an imprisoned animal pacing up and down

But I'm not an animal, I'm a rational human being

so I control my rage

and seek sanctuary within my inner cage

Po, Mark - like most of us, I suspect, I have drawn from personal experience and made up the rest.

My wife hates that I refuse to argue. Arguments get heated, mud gets slung, and you find yourself saying things you regret.

Thanks all for likes and comments.

Subjective or objective...this raises points well worth addressing.
Self-control is, in many ways, a lost discipline these days. We like
to give reasons but these are more like excuses for excesses that
have their causes within the individual mind. There are various mindsets that seem unable to exercise self-discipline or respond
responsibly towards the demands and/or instructions issuing from "authority".figures. Check the online news pages for these examples.
Then there are those seen on the roads when cretinous chariot-drivers have charge of a ton or more of dangerous machinery and
no control over impatience. Mind how you go! 😐

WHY?

Is this your inner dialogue
or
My inquisitive enquiring nature.

Either way a great write mate.
