STILL

Death how close

I sense you draw near

Feel the warmth of your breath

on my neck…  I’ve no fear

Lost to my lover

at the hilt of his knife

Its point pierces my heart

at the end of my life

Severed… like my aorta

His cross to bear

The true love of my life

so far... yet so near.

So tightly embraced

in his arms…

I’m slipping away

“I love you my darling”

              my last words

                   that I say.

You’re welcome. And yes, true love goes beyond the limitations of death.

Shehariah, Thank you for your comment.

When killing one kills the other.

I like you, write from bitter experience.

And

From the heart that knows, true love can never be dammed, for it is eternal.

Oh wow! How intimate and vulnerable a moment in time you captured in words. Embracing pain as only a lover knows.

Aside from this being a wonderfully fashioned piece of poetry I more immediately thought of
'Death has been swallowed up in victory Where o death is your victory where o death where is your sting'
1 cor 15 54-55

Thanks for this Po

Nice one

Thank you Moon.girl, Abdul and Julie for reading and hitting like.

Many would have it that the TAROT is the devils' work.

Well, I would fervently disagree.

It is 78 pieces of cardboard, nothing more, nothing less. (except in few decks) where the numbers may differ slightly.

Perhaps I'll write more poetry about the Major Arcana.

How often I have been aware of the victim's soul who has returned to say they forgive. The facts are sadly seen only after the event, in the worlds beyond.

How often those who die after committing a heinous deed or act return to earth to beg forgiveness from those whom they have hurt or wronged, only to be rejected… And still from the innocent victims they are greatly feared!

The biggest hurts and pain I have experienced personally, at a deep soul level, is when this happens.

For truly until forgiven neither the victims nor the assailants can move forward to the realms where we no longer harbour anger or vengeance.

When we have all grown beyond our earthy understandings of WHY?

..."My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

The Message: From noon to three, the whole earth was dark. Around mid-afternoon Jesus groaned out of the depths, crying loudly, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?”

Or so the saying goes...which means, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

Some would have it said this is god talking to himself!

AND

Luke 23:34: “Forgive them for they know what they do”

I say: “Forgive them, god, for they know not what YOU do”

… Or why you do it, or most often, why you DON’T do it when so many ask you to KILL in YOUR name.

How can I say these things?

Because this is MY understanding, my reality. I do not except the religious amongst us to take my word. Not the atheists nor the agnostics.

I write not to convert or coerces or confuse or confound. Simply to express my own experiences and understanding.

I like you perhaps don’t know the answer. I do know the religious teachings of ALL religions is both right and wrong in equal measures.

If I know anything at all, it is this…

ONLY WHEN HAVE AS MANY RELIGIONS IN THE WORLD AS WE DO IT’S INHABITANTS, WILL WE TRULY FIND PEACE.

I'm speechless reading these words. For I can sense more than the words exhibit. I feel a sudden surge of emotions gushing forth. And also an urge to raise my hands in prayer.

An inevitable end of all but many are unaware. Many are relaxing. Specially the cruel and evil, wicked ones are rejoicing oblivious of this fact.

A marvelous piece, demonstrating the strength to meet this guy, eye to eye.

There's life beyond this realm, even better I hope. Earning the right sustenance and packing the best garments for that journey ahead.

Powerful write. Strongly expressed. Strength, wisdom and love to you Po.

May the world see your goodness, kindness, strength and light. May you shine brighter than the sunshine.
