My girlfriend's always gossiping about something or other,

And her father would go crazy as I'm sleeping with him too.

Always make the most of opportunity say I. I'm sure the Vicar knows, don't you have neighbours, a window cleaner, gardener, or a lady who helps in the house occasionally?
If you live in the town you might get away with it, but not in a village, no way.
