Our world is crying

entry picture

Our world is crying

Slowly as our world emerges

from this turbid pandemic life resurges

to begin again a life a new

except alas for the misfortunate few

whose bodies sequester to a virulent virus

clouded blood in lungs resided

and many families grieve alone

deprived of loved ones in their home

parted even as death calls

as into turmoil lives are hurled

to never be the same again

women, children and old men

indiscriminately and without mercy

dispatched concisely, often tersely

a simple tag tied around a toe

placed on a trolly and off they go

To leave an anguished nation mourning

COVID consumed our world...

             Whose grief’s outpouring.

Julie, thank you for the like.

Awake at 4 am, time for thoughtful repose.
as beside myself, I've juxtaposed

Good morning Abdul

Grieving is something that most of us encounter at some point in our lifetime... This thing we sadly have all come too collectively...

It has been many a year since the whole world lived in fear.

Your profundity is as always, welcome.

Po

A lot to ponder in this poem.

Misfortunate few; clouded blood in lungs; and, dispatched with a simple tag tied round a toe!

Not to mention grieving.

A vivid potrait of the devastation caused by this lurge.

For whom the bell toll seems an appropriate lament. P
