Here we go again

Carpe-Diem

I received some news today, I heard six months ago

Honestly, I have to say, I found it quite a blow

Then as time passages, as time is oft to do

I put my thoughts to other things, and my the time has flew

All at once it presages, the portent of some doom

A lesson, which I once learned, never to assume

Augury, divination, foresight from the past

Akin to a train-wreck, slow motion, here at last

I watched and I listened, co-workers half a year

Each dreading every moment each day consumed with fear

Carpe-diem is the maxim, throughout my life I’ve seized

The Roman poet Horace, these words he once perceived

Yet now as time hastens on, our eleventh hour has dawned

A brief reprieve thus afforded, by a government bond

A lifeline emblematic holds us by a thread

That pulls us from insolvency the cause of so much dread

Thanks Boris

Wise old MC. Thank you for this.

Our time spent down in Whitehall
was expediently well spent
Giving ‘fangs’ to COBRA
I was ecstatic that we went
Elated even, with the outcome
We received far more than we gave
Everybody is a winner.
Far more than I was saved.

Hmm...lines that suggest it's time to consider what time is about.
Time is like a currency
That there's no chance to save;
Better to have used it wisely
And be kind in what you gave.
