Now in my 60's I have been writing since I was about 10, I had very supportive teachers and mentors, but then life got in the way, work, family, travelling the world, some I wrote about some I didn't but most are lost in natural discardment. (I like new words) I am now writing again with a renewed vigour, having took early retirement, I want to have a book published of my work not for financial reward but more as a epitaph to my life for grand children to remember me by. Had my first published poem in the Canadian Sunflower Poetry Review, I'm so proud of me, and it spurs me on I write as J.D. Russell as I think it has class (it may not, but don't disillusion me)

Doubt How come heroes die in silence, When cowards scream and shout? How come believers seem assured, When I'm in so much doubt?
