Biography

I am an old singer/songwriter who has discovered performance poetry. I have always writen poetry and now with my performance experience I am having a good time doing the odd poetry gig.

Samples

The Turmoil of my Sin In the corner, darkly Sat the man with one eye closed. Could he really see me I guess he could, one would suppose. Or maybe he was restin’ Only one eye at a time. Or one eye he could see with And in the other he be blind. If this really was the case Then which eye should I now trust And should I sit and play my cards And hope that he’ll go bust. Should I look for other signs Like the twitching of his nose Or check that he is breathin’ Or comment on his clothes. But why wake this sleeping dragon If sleeping he may be And tempt him into action And maybe take a bite of me I think that he can read my mind So my thoughts I must conceal, I think he’s trying to tempt me Into some unspoken deal. Now just what would he call a sin Is it thought or deed or both And would he view inaction As the deadly sin of sloth. I must admit I am confused Without a single word from him Evil’s held within the eye Of those who judge the sin.

Thanks Ann.
I have reached a time in life when the compactness and spontaneity of performance poetry appeals to me so much more than my "old life" of carrying huge ammounts of equipment around; and having to cater for the tantrums of other musicians who I would be working with.
With poetry I can travel light both physicaly and in mind.
I look forward to a long association with WOL.
