Example: see here... I am Dutch, and therefore my poems are as spot on as Raymond van Barneveld's 180's. I can easily combine the technical ability of Bergkamp with Rembrandt's finesse in poems constructed with the impossible perfection of Escher. Or, more likely, my prose is as warbled as that of Johan Cruyff, as daft as selling New York before it became the Big Apple, and as refined as the Amsterdam red light district. Currently based in Bolton, with an appetite to perform poetry on both sides of the pond, you can be the judge.
With just a small amount of poems written in English, I thought it best to translate the best of the Dutch crop. Unfortunately, this kind of alchemy turns gold into lead most of the time. This here example needs a bit of work yet. --- Een Fragment - A Figment In others I see bits of her likeness and I'd like to tell myself that she's average but if she's common as muck why do I remain unstuck no each bit a mere scar the sum of parts so far In others I see bits of all I dearly miss and I'd like to tell myself I'm engulfed by her bliss but the bits bite my arse she's gone, this is farce no I can't cope here on my own can't we do ASDA together from now on?
