Think Sweet Girl Think sweet girl, though I do not truly know you, How in fleeting conversation as a stranger, I Wish you the glory of all your life's ambition, Before these scarce minutes see you go by. And think how beneath the canopy of stars, I point to points of light and your sweet eyes Take in the magic cosmos in which you show your amazement Of Orion, Sirius and the evening skies. Such a young love in all her innocence, Dear girl I hope you learn to despise, As there are many ways in which life can be despicable, But to find true meaning from the world of lies. And as for me pure youth I must leave you, To go about my existence, to turn and sigh, Because the heavy load of loneliness and displeasure, I have to face without knowing why.
