My interest in poetry began in high school with the traditional readings of Shakespeare but my first poetry book purchase was Allen Ginsberg's Howl and I was hooked. I began writing at the age of 16, continued through high school and college and then took a break for over a decade. I began writing again a year ago after I felt my life empty without poetry, the beauty of reading and putting down to words the joys and pain of life. It's been an emotionally inspired journey and I thank everyone here for their support and positive feedback.
Seeking Wisdom You display your heart proudly on your chest for all to see, Speaking with passion and soul, Bringing others in from the cold, Empowering others with your vision, Enabling others to make decisions. Such a vibrant man to be an inspiration for future generations. We seek your wisdom and grace In a fucked up place Where a leader wants to shut out others, Lock down borders, And turn against everyone that doesn't fit the image. In a world of alternative facts What greatness is there if we turn our backs On the achievements been made So your cronies get a little play- time in the limelight At our expense. We will stand up and fight Against the hatred and violence. As the nights pass, the nation grows weary But our resolve to maintain our values is steady.
